Textbooks
I won’t be handing out textbooks for students to keep for the year.

Reading class will be individualized based on student’s Lexile reading levels, interests, and skill needs. Class will involve individual reading time, partner reading, whole-class teacher read aloud, whole class instruction, small group strategy sessions, and computer-based instruction. Students will meet one-on-one with the teacher to receive coaching based on their individual areas of growth and goals.

Homework
Students will be expected to keep a reading log and read a minimum of 20 minutes each night. The reading material can be chosen by the student and should be something they really enjoy! This can include novels, short stories, newspapers, magazines, comic books, etc.
